So we survived. Our first week doing nothing different to what we usually do but the difference in intention was there. And I noticed. And it was definitely a time for teething.
We went off to Forest school this morning. Only after Bohan and Jamie has played “counting mountain”. I really can’t praise Orchard Games enough. They’re great. So sneakily educational.
Forest school was good fun. It took us a while to get there because Romy picked and ate every single blackberry that she saw which really scuppered the foraging plans for our apple and blackberry crumble! We did manage to find some more and get them in the pot before Romy ate them!

And then we rounded the day off with some independent play and the kids got the Lego out and read some books together and while I made dinner we got the play dough out.

But all in all my very favourite part of the day was when I asked Bohan what his favourite thing was and he said “watching all the children enjoying their crumble.” (He doesn’t like fruit and wouldn’t even go near it but I love that he found joy in other peoples joy.)
