Tomorrow we’re officially back to normal. But what even is normal? Especially as we want to keep travelling with the kids. Will there ever be a normal now? Or should we just settle in to what ever life throws at us and call it normal?
We’re back in Devon. Tomorrow is Monday. Jamie starts his longer hours tomorrow. The fridge is stocked, the lunches are made, I should have got petrol for the car and we haven’t really unpacked properly so the dreams of truly having my shit together for the start of a new week are somewhat dashed already. But alas – this is my normal. Semi organised sprinkled with a huge dash of chaos and winging it with my fingers forever crossed that it’ll come ok in the end.
After being in the mountains for so long we’re going to the beach tomorrow to meet some much missed pals. I can’t wait to show Soren the sea. He won’t remember it from the last time we went so I’m really looking forward to seeing what he’ll be like. I’ve packed his little bucket and spade and a load of snacks so he should be all set.
My plan is to fit a bit of maths and English into our morning and some read aloud time in the evening and to be full of patience to answer whatever wonderful and amazing questions the kids are bound to ask while we’re on the beach.
Our mothers help also starts tomorrow and I’m really really hoping she’s as good as I think she might be. She’ll just be here in the evenings to give us an extra hand with the evening hustle and bustle so that I’m not finally sitting down to rest at 10pm.
I’m kind of spent. So I’m leaving this here and maybe I’ll add some images one day. Maybe I won’t. Maybe I’ll add more to this post… or edit it. Whatever. I’m tried.
